The two-time Miami Open champion
Andy Murray will not compete at the season's first Masters 1000 tournament this week, feeling pain in his groin and deciding to withdraw.
Andy came to Miami a couple of days ago and worked with no issues on the practice court or a gym. Still, he felt problems with a left groin on Saturday, and the injury is too serious to risk anything, as he withdrew ahead of the first-round clash with Lloyd Harris. Murray had high hopes ahead of the Miami Open, always loving to compete in Florida after lifting trophies in 2009 and 2013.
MStruggling with injuries in recent years, Murray dropped out from the top-100, still hoping for a better run and a chance to play for notable titles again. The Briton's last match in Miami came in 2016 when he lost to Grigor Dimitrov in three tight sets in the third round, having to wait for another year to chase his 29th victory in Florida.
"I had no issues while training; I felt fine and did some gym work Friday without a problem. Then I woke up about 3 in the morning, felt pain in the groin, not on the side I had my surgery, got out of bed I struggled quite a bit to walk," Andy Murray said.
