Holger Rune won his match against
Ugo Humbert and advances to the fourth round of the
Australian Open The number nine seed is one of the young stars on the tour, who already made a name for himself
among the best in the world. Last year he finished in the top-10 and there were
high expectations for his performance at the first major of the year, despite his loss
in the first round of Adelaide at the start of the season.
He has
carried out all his matches in Melbourne. In the third round he had to overcome
former world 25th Ugo Humbert. The Dane had a 67% first serve but was very
effective, winning 82% of them. For his part the Frenchman presented a 67% first
serve, winning 67% of them.
The first
two sets showed the No. 10's vast superiority, winning handily 6-4, 6-2.
However, the third set showed a slightly more aggressive Humbert, who played at
a good level and took the third set to a tie-break. Finally, Rune prevailed
with his serve and won the set 7-6 (5).
The young
star went through difficult times when it seemed that he had sprained his
ankle, but after the match he reassured the public, ruling out a major injury: “I’m
healthy, nothing is dangerous, I’m just gonna do my recovered due to i can be
as good as possible for the next match.”
In the next
round he must faces the 5th seed
Andrey Rublev, who defeated Daniel Evans in 3
sets:
“He's also
playing extremely good, his forehand, we all know is very strong and he is
really solid from the baseline, he doesn't have any weakness so I really have
to play aggressive, play like I did the first three matches and go for it. It's
going to be another exciting match”.
