Novak Djokovic again will duel with Jannik Sinner in the final of the ATP Finals on Sunday evening in Turin as he looks for revenge after his group stage loss and also a record breaking 7th title at the ATP Finals.
Djokovic spoke after defeating Carlos Alcaraz on Saturday and was full of praise for Sinner and said he's playing the best tennis of his life as well as lauding the atmosphere.
He added also that he knows he will have to turn up with his A-game to face Sinner to have a chance of victory. He eased past Alcaraz 6-3, 6-2 in the semi-finals to reach this point after nearly going out in the group stage.
Sinner was the one who held his fate but wouldn't spurn an opportunity of a win against Holger Rune which allowed Djokovic a path through. Now they reunite.
“He’s been playing fantastic tennis. Arguably the best tennis of his life, on this stage against top 10 players. We played 7-6 in the third. A very close match the other night. The atmosphere was unbelievable, electric, obviously.
"I don’t expect anything less than that. Probably even more loud than what we had in the group stage matchup. It’s the final. I’ve been in this situation many times before. I’m happy with the way I’m feeling & playing. Hopefully I can deliver my ‘A Game’ tomorrow.”
