Aslan Karatsev and Evgeny Donskoy have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and will not play in the
ATP Cup.
Team Russian has been hit hard by the COVID-19 virus as two more players tested positive for it. The first one to test positive was Andrey Rublev a few days ago upon his return from Abu Dhabi. The Russian is just one of a number of players that seemingly caught the virus at the event. Now two more players have tested positive in the Russian team and they are Karatsev and Donskoy.
The news was announced by team captain Tarpischev who lead the team at the Davis Cup last month. Karatsev was part of that team that won the event. Now it's up to Medvedev to lad the depleted Russian team that will still have some solid start power with him in the team. He will be backed up by Saffiulin and Karlovskiy.
How far can Russia go with this depleted squad remains to be seen? All hope is that nobody else tests positive anymore.
