Despite many notable absences, the 2020
US Open promises to be a great spectacle. Two players with the most Grand Slam titles in history,
Roger Federer and
Rafael Nadal are not in the draw, but the first-seeded
Novak Djokovic will be attempting to close the gap to the other two members of the Big Three. Also, the second-seeded
Dominic Thiem will get a chance to win his first Grand Slam title in the career.
As always, the draw features many interesting matchups.
Novak Djokovic will meet Damir Dzumhur in the first round and
Dominic Thiem will take on Jaume Munar. The third-seeded
Daniil Medvedev will play against Federico Delbonis and no. 4 in Flushing Meadows,
Stefanos Tsitsipas will be facing Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
Some notable first-round matches include
Alexander Zverev meeting Kevin Anderson in the first round.
Andy Murray will take on Yoshihito Nishioka.
