Jannik Sinner remains at the top of the ATP Race to the Finals after winning the Miami Open title against Grigor Dimitrov. The Italian once again showcased his best repertoire and improved his 2024 record to 22-1, with his only loss coming against Carlos Alcaraz, who, despite claiming the title in Indian Wells, is still a few positions behind Sinner.
The ATP Race considers only the points earned from the first week of the year until the last ranking update and will determine the 8 qualifiers for the Finals. Since the end of the Australian Open in January, Sinner has been the leader of the ranking with 3,900 points and continues to widen the gap against his pursuers.
In second place is Australian Open finalist Daniil Medvedev with 2,550 points, who saw his aspirations frustrated two weeks ago in the Indian Wells final against Alcaraz and a couple of days ago in the Miami Open semifinals against the eventual champion Sinner.
The third position is held by Alexander Zverev with 1,835 points, slightly ahead of Alcaraz with 1,700. The German has shown a very high level and has quietly returned to the top 5, reaching the semifinals in the Australian Open and Miami, as well as the quarterfinals in Indian Wells.
At the moment, the other players who would have a spot in the ATP Finals are Alex de Minaur (1,495), the recent Miami finalist Grigor Dimitrov (1,465), Andrey Rublev (1,060), and the Argentine Sebastian Baez (1,060), who won two titles in the South American Golden Swing.
Novak Djokovic appears only at No. 12, with appearances in the Australian Open and Indian Wells, totaling 910 points.
