ATP Rankings Update: Jannik Sinner reaches 17 weeks as World No.1 as Marin Cilic rises up 500 spots

The ATP Rankings have been updated for another week with Jannik Sinner reaching 17 weeks as World No.1 as he sits 18th on the all time list with very minimal changes elsewhere.

Sinner is currently in Beijing aiming to defend his title and in the process, he would defend the 500 points for winning said title last year. He holds a comfortable 11,180 points though which is 4,305 points ahead of Alexander Zverev.

Zverev with 6,875 points saw a 200 point drop for not defending his Chengdu title and playing at the Laver Cup instead. Carlos Alcaraz remains third ahead of Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev. In terms of actual changes, Juncheng Shang made a significant leap.

He won Chengdu and is up to a career high of World No.52 with 1,045 points. Zhang Zhizhen who was runner-up in Hangzhou also rose seven spots to World No.41 with 1,270 points. Lorenzo Musetti also reaching the final in Chengdu propelled him one spot up. While Marin Cilic for winning Hangzhou became the lowest ranked champion in ATP Tour history. It was his first title since winning the 2021 St Petersburg Open and he is up over 500 spots to World No.212.
