ATP Rankings Update: Sinner seals Year End No.1, Djokovic aids Turin chances as Machac and Draper rise

Another week has gone by and so we look at the ATP Rankings after the Shanghai Masters which saw Jannik Sinner reign supreme over Novak Djokovic in China.

Whilst there has been very minimal changes in regards to movement, there has been when it comes to repercussions for the rest of the season as Sinner has sealed the Year End No.1 spot as a result of winning. He has had a terrific season and is far and away the World Number One.

He sits imperiously on 11,920 and ensured that he sits way ahead of Carlos Alcaraz on 7,120 with Alexander Zverev distant at 6,795 points. Djokovic's bid for a 100th career title was spoiled by Sinner but he did collect some valuable points. Barely playing on the tour at times this season, it has been difficult to pursue ranking goals as well as an ATP Finals spot.

He strengthened his Turin chances as a result of reaching the final. Taylor Fritz was the main riser as he went up to World Number 6 while Casper Ruud and Alex de Minaur (8th and 9th) also moved up. Jack Draper and Tomas Machac were among the leading winners elsewhere though.

Draper won't play until Vienna. But he still rose to a new career high of World No.19 this week. Machac also having reached the semi-final is up to World No.25 and a new career high. As is fellow Czech ace Jakub Mensik in terms of rise as he went up to World No.51.
