The US Open is only a few days away and if the seeds move on as projected the quarterfinals could be a very entertaining prospect.
Grand Slams are always notorious for delivering a few surprises yet if all of the seeds win the matches they are supposed to the 2021 US Open could be very interesting. The projected quarterfinals have Novak Djokovic take on Matteo Berrettini. They played at the Roland Garros and it was a very intense and emotional match that went the way of Djokovic.
Daniil Medvedev arguably has the easiest opponent in the quarterfinals as the Russian is projected to face Casper Ruud. The Norwegian is proving capable of winning on hard courts yet his game is not yet ready for the highest of heights on the concrete.
Stefanos Tsitsipas as the 3rd seed could face Andrey Rublev and the duo have some history. Several matches were played between them with Rublev winning a final that Tsitsipas should have won. The biggest match came in Monte-Carlo this year and the Greek proved better.
The final quarterfinal is truly a mouth watering one especially if Denis Shapovalov can return to his Wimbledon level. The Canadian struggled immensely in the past month but a propesct of facing Zverev in the quarterfinal might inspire him to do his best.
