The chief of the
Monte-Carlo Masters confirmed to the media that they don't plan on installing Hawk-Eye despite a pretty big error in the
Novak Djokovic match.
Novak Djokovic was in disbelief when a ball he saw as out was called in by the umpire. Even after inspecting it, the umpire still upheld the ruling that the ball was in with the replay showing it to be a big out. Djokovic was enraged by the call ultimately losing focus which contributed to his loss overall.
It wasn't the reason why he lost but it didn't help either. Considering that we have tech that pretty much eliminates all of these errors it makes zero sense to carry on with the old way however that is what the event plans on doing. The chief confirmed it after the event ended:
"We are very satisfied with our human linesmen."
