Felix Auger-Aliassime and
Gael Monfils will be playing at the
Lyon Open thanks to receiving wild card entries into the main draw of the event joining the likes of Cam Norrie in the draw.
Monfils and Auger-Aliassime opted to play in the week before Roland Garros, mostly because neither has played that well on the surface so far. Getting one or two more matches it will be beneficial for them, especially if they can win those. Monfils has won only one match since returning to the Tour and even that one was thanks to a retirement.
Auger-Aliassime didn't impress anyone either with two losses in Madrid and Rome. The draw will feature a few solid players such as last year's champion Cameron Norrie but for the most part, it will be void of any big stars. Most of them will be in Paris early to prepare for the upcoming grand slam.
