A very strong Antwerp Open final awaits us tomorrow as
Felix Auger-Aliassime takes on Sebastian Korda for the trophy.
Korda played another strong match today to best Dominic Thiem after a very heavy battle that went to three sets. From the start, it was evident that it was going to be a good match with both players cruising comfortably on serve. It finished in the tiebreak with Thiem turning a 2-4 deficit into a 7-4 win.
The second set saw Korda take an early lead and never let it go even adding to it to finish off the set 6-3. It was just not good enough from Thiem in that one. The final set was another one that went to the tiebreak despite Thiem breaking Korda for a 4-3 lead. He lost his serve in the next game and Korda proved better in this tiebreak 7-4.
The second set was far simpler as Auger-Aliassime defeated
Richard Gasquet rather comfortably. It was a two-hour match and it was in two tiebreaks but you never had the sense that Auger was panicking. The Canadian simply did not take his chances when he had them and he had very few.
Gasquet played a strong match allowing only one break point in the entire match and it went unconverted. Auger on his side did not allow a single one and it was a comfortable finish in the tiebreak. Two superb players in the final tomorrow.
