The Billie Jean King Cup Finals will be played in November at the end of the season but some of the biggest names in the game will miss the event.
Top players skipping over the Davis Cup or the Billie Jean King Cup is nothing unusual with many players electing to rest their bodies at the end of the season to better prepare for the next season. The timing of the event being played as the last even in the year does not help the cause and this year once again many will miss it.
Most top players will miss the event for varying reasons with Swiatek, Svitolina, Sakkari, Osaka and Jabeur missing the event because their countries did not qualify for the event. Of the players whose nations did qualify Ashleigh Barty, Aryna Sabalenka, Karolina Pliskova, Sofia Kenin and Petra Kvitova will all miss the event mostly to rest up after a long and brutal reason.
Barty might even skip the WTA Finals electing to stay back home in Australia with her speaking several times this year about how much homesick she felt throughout the season. Despite all the cancellations, the event should be a great one with many good players attending and with very high stakes with a great venue.

Most of the top 15 players won’t play the BJK Cup Finals: 1. Barty 2. Sabalenka 3. Pliskova 4. Swiatek (POL not qualified) 7. Svitolina (UKR not qualified) 8. Kenin 9. Sakkari (GRE not qualified) 11. Kvitova 12. Osaka (JPN not qualified) 14. Jabeur (TUN not qualified)
