The 11-time Major champion Bjorn Borg has had a chance to coach Team Europe during the Laver Cup and spend time with the world's leading player once a year.
The great Swede, who dominated tennis in the late 70s and early 80s, spoke about Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, praising three legends and sharing his thoughts about their careers. Borg believes that Roger has five big goals ahead of him following his career's most extended break and that Rafael Nadal still stands as the favorite at Roland Garros. Not forgetting Djokovic, the Swede reminded that Novak wants to win as many Majors as possible and pass Federer and Nadal in the GOAT race.
"It's a pity that Roger decided not to play in Australi; he had a chance. But for 2021, he has five goals: the first is to stay fit, and the others are Wimbledon, the Olympics, the US Open, and the Laver Cup. Roger and Rafa are two of the strongest ever; they know what to do. I am rather impressed with how motivated and focused they are on the pitch. And they are great people even outside of tennis.
They know what I did, and I know what they are doing. I'm much older, but I've been through their own experiences; that's why we understand each other perfectly. Nadal has won one Australian Open title, but he could have done it two or three more times. In Paris, he will undoubtedly be the favorite, but let's not forget Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev, Denis Shapovalov, Alexander Zverev, who can do well in all the big tournaments.
In the end, we have Novak Djokovic, who wants to win as many Majors as possible and overtake Roger and Rafa," Bjorn Borg said.
