Croatia’s tennis star
Borna Coric has deleted his account
from the social media platform Instagram.
The 26-year-old has recently lost in the Omnium Banque
Nationale Canadian Open opening round fixture against Australia’s
Aleksandar Vukic
in straight sets with a score of 6-2, 6-3.
It is anticipated that the move is likely to avoid any
backlash after that defeat.
The result of the Omnium Banque Nationale Canadian Open will
definitely going to be a big blow for Coric in his preparations for the
upcoming mega-event.
The world number 15 has yet to win a major title in his
career despite turning pro 10 years back.
His best performance to date in any of the Grand Slams came
in the US Open in 2020 when he was knocked out from the quarterfinal stage
after losing to Alexander Zverev of Germany with a score of 1-6, 7-6, 7-6, 6-3.
This year, Coric was knocked out of the first round from the
Australian Open and Wimbledon whereas he exited the French Open after losing
the third-round tie to Argentina’s Tomás Martín Etcheverry with a score of 6-3,
7-6, 6-2.
