Brilliant Broady becomes first British wildcard to beat a top-five player at a Grand Slam with Ruud win at Wimbledon

Liam Broady delighted the British crowd on Centre Court with a magical display to down number four seed Casper Ruud at Wimbledon.
Broady sealed a superb 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 win and reaches the third round for the second consecutive year and becomes the first British wildcard in the Open Era to beat a top five player at a Grand Slam.
It was a display which saw Ruud curtail off towards the end and Broady used his grass court advantage to full display winning 72 per cent of points at the net and staying solid from the baseline taking every opportunity.
While for Ruud, his preparation of playing golf and watching the Weeknd seemingly didn't pay off and he will now head to the European Clay Court swing.
“When I went to bed last night, I was having a think about what I’d say if I won the match, and I don’t really know what to say now,” said Broady in his on-court interview. “It’s a pretty terrifying, exhilarating experience coming out on Centre Court at Wimbledon. It’s been my dream since I was five years old.”  
Next for Broady is Denis Shapovalov, while Andrey Rublev is also through after digging deep to down Aslan Karatsev 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.
Reacting well after losing the first set, he completed a two hour 52 minute epic over Karatsev claiming the only break in each of the remaining sets before coming back from a late blip closing out the match. Next will be David Goffin or Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera.
