Andy Murray's run in
Indian Wells has come to an end with
Alexander Bublik proving better in two sets 7-6(11-9) 6-3.
Many expected good things from Murray in Indian Wells but the British player ran into an inspired Alexander Bublik who is having a pretty good year. The first set was a very close one yet Murray will be kicking himself a long time for the missed chances he had earlier in the set. Bublik held from 0-40 early in the set and fended off another break point in the next game.
Ultimately we ended up in a tiebreak and it was a very epic one. 20 points overall were played with Bublik winning it 11-9. The first set lasted over an hour and it saw Murray squander plenty of chances including 3 sets pints in the tiebreak.
Murray had another break point in the first game of the 2nd set but once again Bublik saved it. Sasha missed a break chance of his own in the next game but it did not matter much as he was able to break Murray in the Brit's next service game. Bublik nearly added another break but Murray held on. In the end, Bublik finished it off with 6-3 to move on.
