Cameron Norrie came up against Jack Draper in the 2nd round of the Miami Open and the senior British player proved better 7-6(5) 6-4.
It was a very interesting clash between the two British player as there were many long rallies with players trying to outsmart one another. Norrie as the more experienced player generally played a very clever style of tennis that forced Draper to attack him. As much as Draper tried he generally found himself committing an error.
Early on, Norrie was in full control of the match as he was able to jump out to a 5-2 lead. Draper did find some rhythm later on and battled back all the way up to 5-5. We then went into the tiebreak where Norrie once again played a bit more composed than his opponent winning it 7-5.
Things went quite similarly in the 2nd set. Draper was a bit more composed in the 2nd set and held his serve rather easily initially. Norrie tried to put himself upfront but he failed to do so until much later in the match when he finally was able to break his opponent and take the lead. He then closed it out with 6-4.
