The closing day of the Battle of the Brits Premier League of Tennis from the National Tennis in Roehampton saw the clash between top-ranked British male players.
Daniel Evans finishes the tournament with a 2-2 score, beating Jan Choinski and Liam Broady and losing to Andy Murray and Cameron Norrie. On Wednesday, Norrie toppled Evans 6-3, 6-2 in 82 minutes, celebrating the third victory over the better-ranked compatriot in 2020. From 3-3 in the opener, a left-hander grabbed five straight games to forge a crucial advantage and bring the victory home from there.
Daniel wasted five break chances in two different games that could have kept him in contention, squandering them all and finishing on the losing side in his last match of the competition.
Norie had to dig deep in the seventh game, defending three break chances and closing it with an ace to avoid the setback. Wasting his opportunities, Evans suffered a break at 3-4 following Norrie's return winner, losing the set when Cameron held at love for 6-3.
With momentum on his side, Norrie secured another break at the beginning of the second set that sent him 4-2 in front, delivering another return game at 4-2 and sealing the deal a few minutes later after saving two break points in game eight.
