Former world number one
Andre Agassi believes that people
can play
pickleball at the age of 50 and can still get better at it.
The newest version of tennis is gaining popularity all over the
world as more and more professional players are showing their eagerness to take
part in pickleball events.
Agassi was recently quoted in a report where he discussed how
it is easier to play pickleball compared to tennis which according to him is the
‘most demanding racket sport’.
"Listen, I think pickleball and tennis can play very
happily in the same sandbox,” he said. “I’ve seen pickleball take tennis clubs
that were on the verge of going under and bring them alive again.
"Tennis is, I think, the most demanding racket sport
that exists. What can you do at 50-plus years old and still get better at? I
love to say this about pickleball.”
Agassi remains one of the most successful players from the USA
to play in the men’s singles category. He ended up winning eight Grand Slam titles
in his career. Despite winning less than 10 major titles in his career, the
53-year-old managed to complete a career Grand Slam as he won all the major
titles at least once.
