Seen in front of the Caja Magica, #Nadal #Alcaraz @MutuaMadridOpen :
Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal have certainly left their mark on the Madrid Open and this has been shown with their likenesses immortalised on front of the Caja Magica at the tournament. Last night saw Nadal's final stand at the Madrid Open where he lost out to Jiri Lehecka 7-5, 6-4.
Alcaraz on the other hand will aim to keep his title defence alive when he faces Andrey Rublev later today. He prevailed in a tough test over Jan-Lennard Struff last time out and has been dealing with injury issues for the majority of the past month or so. But going back to happier times for both and it was 2022 that this image comes from in the changing of the guard of sorts. The former defeated the master after being pummelled in the year prior and had learned the lessons.
Shared by journalist, Carole Bouchard, it is not known whether the mural is done by the tournament or is street graffiti done by an artist but either way, it is a superb ode to two of Spain's greatest sons.
