Carlos Alcaraz will get a tattoo of the Eiffel Tower to commemorate his
first
Roland Garros title. On Sunday, he triumphed in the final against
Alexander Zverev, coming back from two sets to one down, ultimately securing
his third Grand Slam title with a monumental 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 victory in
4 hours and 19 minutes.
The
now three-time Grand Slam champion mentioned in a press conference that, just
as with his titles at the 2022 US Open and 2023 Wimbledon, he plans to get a
tattoo to remember his achievement. The Spaniard is the youngest tennis player
to win Grand Slam titles on three different surfaces at just 21 years old.
Third Grand Slam, third tattoo for Alcaraz
In the
post-match press conference, the Spaniard expressed his joy at winning the
coveted
French Open title. One of the correspondents asked Alcaraz about the
tattoo he plans to get after winning the title and why he has done so with each
of his Grand Slam victories: “I have to find the time. But I will do it for
sure,” Alcaraz commented.
“It's
going to be on the left ankle. You know, Wimbledon was the right one. Here it’s
going to be the left one, I think, with the Eiffel Tower and today's date. And,
yeah, it's something that I'm going to do. I don't know if it’ll be in the next
few weeks or if it’ll take a month or two, but I will do it (smiling).”
