The nominations for the 2024 ATP Awards have been confirmed with Carlos Alcaraz leading the way. There will be five awards handed out with four voted for by the players.
The Coach of the Year will be voted for by fellow coaches. Alcaraz won the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award in 2023 and he has been nominated for that honour again.
Casper Ruud joins him in being nominated for that award having also won in 2022. Grigor Dimitrov and the now-retired Dominic Thiem also join them on the list. Comeback Player of the Year Award also features some intriguing choices with Marin Cilic who became the lowest ranked player in history to win a tour title in the running.
As is Matteo Berrettini who starred just last week as Italy won the Davis Cup and won three ATP titles. Kei Nishikori who returned to the top 150 of the ATP Rankings also leads the list. Most Improved player is led by Jack Draper. Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Tomas Machac, and Alejandro Tabilo all are nominated too. Jakub Mensik and Juncheng Shang are the two players nominated for Newcomer of the Year. While Draper’s coach James Trotman, Mpetshi Perricard’s coach Emmanuel Planque, and Michael Russell who coaches Taylor Fritz are nominated for Coach of the Year. A snub interestingly for both Alcaraz and Sinner's coaches.
