The seven-time Grand Slam champion
Carlos Alcaraz has reappeared in the public eye through
Nike’s new London-inspired “All Love” collection, despite remaining sidelined from competition since mid-April. The World No. 2 has not played since the Barcelona Open and his absence from Wimbledon was confirmed earlier this season.
Alcaraz’s latest off-court appearance comes during a prolonged recovery period from a wrist injury, with no official date set for his return to the
ATP Tour.
While promotional material continues to highlight his global commercial profile, the Spaniard remains in rehabilitation and away from match play.
The timing of the campaign underlines a contrasting phase in his season: high visibility off court, but complete absence from competition. His last competitive match came on 14 April, when he was forced to withdraw from Barcelona shortly after his opening-round win.
Injury setback and extended absence from competition
Alcaraz has not competed since suffering a right wrist injury during the clay-court swing, an issue that initially emerged in Barcelona and ultimately escalated into a longer absence than first expected. The injury ruled him out of the remainder of the European clay season and the grass-court swing.
That meant missing Roland Garros, where he was defending champion, followed by a confirmed withdrawal from Wimbledon. The decision effectively removed him from two of the sport’s most significant events in a calendar block where he traditionally accumulates major ranking points.
His most recent public appearance has come through Nike’s newly unveiled “All Love” campaign, marking his latest off-court visibility, although he will not be able to feature on court at Wimbledon due to the ongoing recovery from his wrist injury.
He has since been undergoing rehabilitation and monitored training work, with Spanish reports indicating gradual progress but no definitive timeline for full return to match competition.
Ranking impact, off-court appearances and return outlook
The absence has had direct ranking consequences. Alcaraz has already seen pressure increase from Jannik Sinner in the ATP standings and is set to drop further points due to missing Wimbledon and previous title runs at Queen’s Club, where he earned 500 points.
In parallel with his recovery, Alcaraz has remained visible off court. He has been seen attending social events in Spain, including a concert by reggaeton artist Ozuna in Marbella, as well as appearing in social media content with friends, reflecting a relatively public recovery period outside tennis.
Despite the extended layoff, the long-term focus remains a return during the North American hard-court swing, with the US Open identified as a key target. Events in Canada and Cincinnati are also considered possible preparation tournaments, pending further medical evaluation and clearance to compete.
