Wimbledon has already been hit by multiple big name withdrawals including chief of all being a certain Carlos Alcaraz who won't be playing at SW19 this summer so who isn't involved?
The 2026 Wimbledon Championships are still over two weeks away with the 139th edition of the historic tournament taking place between 29 June - 12 July. By Thursday, there were at least five players over the two entry lists that had withdrawn and that has now risen to seven.
After Alcaraz's withdrawal, Victoria Mboko was the biggest name to fall as she suffered a horror injury at Queen's. She was forced to retire and hurt her knee in a nasty fall and has since confirmed that she has an MCL injury. “Unfortunately, my fall on Wednesday caused an injury to the MCL on my left knee, which sadly means I will miss the remainder of the grass season,” the 19-year-old wrote on Instagram.
“This unfortunately means Wimbledon too, a tournament I had been so looking forward to playing this year.
“I am receiving the best medical care and my team and I are focused on a return to court as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and sent messages of support, I am so grateful to you all!”

Who is out of men's tournament?

In the men's, Valentin Vacherot the star of the Shanghai Masters last year also won't be playing. He has been replaced by Sho Shimabukuro. Arthur Cazaux has also been replaced by Alex Molcan.
Alcaraz who won the title back in 2023 and 2024 and was runner-up last year withdrew from Wimbledon over a month before the start date due to a right wrist injury that has prevented him from playing since the Barcelona Open in April.
“My recovery is going well, and I feel much better, but unfortunately, I’m still not ready to be able to play, and that’s why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing at Queen’s and Wimbledon,” he previously said.
While back to the WTA list and it also features Hailey Baptiste, Varvara Gracheva and Brit hope Sonay Kartal. Darja Vidmanova, Hanne Vandewinkel, Sinja Kraus and Paula Badosa are in as a result.
