The seven-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz is enjoying his time away from competition as he continues preparing for a return following months on the sidelines through injury. The World No. 2 has not competed since the Barcelona Open in mid-April, and his absence from Wimbledon has already been confirmed, although the exact date of his comeback remains unknown.
The 23-year-old Spaniard has lost ground to Jannik Sinner in the battle for World No. 1 and is set to drop further ranking points in the coming weeks. He will lose the 500 points earned from winning the Queen’s Club Championships title, while another 1,300 points will come off his ranking due to his inability to compete at Wimbledon.
With more than two months out of action, Alcaraz has been working towards a comeback while recovering from a wrist injury. However, true to his style, not everything has revolved around tennis for the two-time Wimbledon champion, who recently appeared in a social media video dancing and enjoying a party with friends in Spain.
The Spaniard has also recently been seen training as part of his preparations for a return, although there is still no clear timeline for when he will be back on court. The US Open is believed to be the main target, with a potential appearance during the North American hard-court swing beforehand, possibly including the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Open. However, further medical evaluations are still required before the extent of his recovery can be fully assessed.

With Alcaraz away from competition, there has not been a great deal of news surrounding the World No. 2. However, he recently made several appearances on social media, including footage showing him dancing at a party with friends.
One of his friends shared the video online, showing Alcaraz enjoying his free time, and it quickly spread across social media platforms. Influencer Sophie Julia also shared a photo alongside the Spaniard.
Alcaraz was also recently spotted attending a concert by reggaeton artist Ozuna in Marbella, where several fans took photographs with him. As he often does, the young Spaniard stopped to smile for the cameras and pose with supporters, while also signing autographs for those who approached him.

From Australian Open champion to injury setback

Alcaraz’s season had begun in ideal fashion, with victory at the Australian Open making him the youngest player ever to complete the Career Grand Slam. It marked his seventh major title, adding to his doubles of trophies at Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open. He left Melbourne as World No. 1 and extended his winning run upon returning at the Qatar Open, where he captured a second consecutive title.
The Spaniard's winning streak reached 16-0 before suffering his first defeat of the year in the Indian Wells semi-finals against Daniil Medvedev. Two weeks later, he endured an even earlier exit at the Miami Open, losing in the third round to Sebastian Korda and leaving the Sunshine Double with disappointing results as Jannik Sinner continued closing the gap in the rankings.

However, the real problems arrived during the clay-court swing. After losing to Sinner in the Monte Carlo Masters final, physical issues began to emerge. Following that defeat, Alcaraz was only able to play one additional tournament, appearing in Barcelona and defeating Otto Virtanen in the opening round before withdrawing ahead of his second-round match against Tomáš Macháč.
That remains Alcaraz’s most recent appearance in competition. His last match came on 14 April, and only days later it was confirmed that he would be sidelined for several months, leaving him unable to defend his titles at the Italian Open and Roland Garros. Shortly afterwards, he also announced his withdrawal from the entire grass-court season, losing the opportunity to compete at Wimbledon, a tournament he won in 2023 and 2024 and where he reached the final in the previous edition.
