Carlos Alcaraz made his Philippe Chatrier debut against Londero and the Spaniard routined his way to a victory 6-4 6-3 6-0.
It was a solid match by Alcaraz but nearly as good as he can play generally. Londero came out inspired as well and he was able to keep Alcaraz away from any break points. The young Spaniard mostly had no issues against Londero on his own serve and he raced through his games. On return, Alcaraz faced some issues but he got a lone break point at 5-4 in the first set and he took it.
A very disappointed Londero kind of lost all hope after that as his play dipped to a clear level than before and Alcaraz was able to take a break in the 2nd set and easily win it 6-3. The 3rd set was pretty well played by Alcaraz and it looked the closes to peak Alcaraz in the entire match. Londero kind of ran out of steam in this match as well and Alcaraz served a parting bagel.
Not much to dissect in this one as Alcaraz simply did enough to win the match. At times he was upping his level to get over the hump. Things will get complicated in the next one as he will face Albert Ramos in the next round. Good start for Alcaraz at the
French Open.
