Casper Ruud has officially completed Team Europe's lineup for the 2026 Laver Cup, with captain Yannick Noah confirming the Norwegian as his sixth and final selection ahead of the event at London's O2 Arena from September 25-27.
The former world No. 2 returns for his sixth consecutive Laver Cup appearance, joining a star-studded European team featuring Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Flavio Cobolli, Jakub Mensik and breakthrough Spaniard Rafael Jodar.
After falling just short against Team World in San Francisco last season, Noah has opted for continuity. Five members of last year's squad return, with Jodar replacing only one player as Team Europe looks to reclaim the trophy in the city where Roger Federer's legendary career came to an emotional end in 2022.
Ruud's experience could prove decisive in London. The three-time Grand Slam finalist owns a 6-3 record across his previous Laver Cup appearances and has developed an impressive partnership with Alcaraz, with the pair remaining unbeaten in doubles together at the competition. Their chemistry adds another weapon to a European side determined to bounce back.

"Exactly the type of player you want": Noah completes Team Europe's roster

Ruud's selection was never expected to generate much surprise, but it gives Team Europe an important balance between proven experience and the new generation of ATP stars. While Jodar prepares for his Laver Cup debut following his breakout 2026 campaign, Ruud brings five editions of experience and an understanding of the unique atmosphere that defines the event.
For Noah, the Norwegian's value extends far beyond his ranking, highlighting both his competitive qualities and his role within the team environment.
"Casper is exactly the type of player you want on your team," Noah said to Laver Cup website. "He's a fantastic competitor, a great teammate and someone who really embraces what the Laver Cup is all about. I'm really happy to have him back on Team Europe."
The French captain also believes this year's group has the right combination to challenge Team World after last year's disappointment.
"We've got a great balance of experience and young talent and more importantly, players who know one another well and genuinely enjoy competing together. We were disappointed not to win last year, but that's given us more motivation. We know how good Team World will be and we're ready for the challenge."

Ruud eyes redemption as Team Europe prepares for London

Ruud admitted the Laver Cup remains one of the highlights of his season, describing the competition's team format as something unique in professional tennis. Having represented Europe every year since 2021, the Norwegian is eager to help the team return to the top after the narrow defeat in San Francisco.
"The Laver Cup is one of the highlights of my season," Ruud said. "There's simply nothing else like it in tennis. The team atmosphere is incredible, and representing Europe always means a lot."

Last year's loss has also added extra motivation heading into London, where the event returns to one of its most iconic venues.
"We came up short last year, so there's definitely extra motivation to put that right in London. Playing at The O2 again, with the British fans creating such a fantastic atmosphere, will make it even more special."
With Ruud's confirmation, Team Europe is now complete. Zverev, Alcaraz, Cobolli, Mensik, Jodar and Ruud will attempt to bring the trophy back to Europe, while Andre Agassi's defending Team World will counter with Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Tommy Paul, Alexander Bublik and Learner Tien in what promises to be another high-profile edition of the competition.
