Borna Coric and Juan Ignacio Londero both won their 1st round matches at the US Open in straight sets defeating Pablo Andujar and Evgeny Donskoy respectively. Borna Coric continued his good run which started last week against Pablo Andujar today. He defeated the Spanish player 3-0 after battling him for almost three hours.

The first one was a tough one for Coric who managed to break the Spaniards defense after an hour long battle with the set ending 7-5. After that it became a bit easier for Coric whon continued to play good winning the 2nd set 6-3. The last set was the quickest one where Coric destroyed Andujar 6-1.

Joining Coric will be Juan Ignacio Londero who defeated Evgeny Donskoy 3-0 as well. Londero was a bit quciker than Donskoy only taking 2 hours as the Russian was simply overmatched throught the match. The end result was 6-3 6-3 and 7-5.

The first surprise of the US Open came after Gerasimov defeated Lajovic 3-1. Not many players expected the Belarussian to defeat the Serbian but he did after playing a very good match against him. The only hiccup for him came in the 2nd set which he lost 6-4. All in all it was a very well prepared tactic from Gerasimov who looked comfortable apart from the 2nd set. The end result was 6-1 4-6 6-4 6-4.
