Cristian Garin suffered an early exit in Santiago where he was the defending champion and he took the loss very hard.
Garin has been struggling for a very long time as the Chilean is yet to do anything of note in the recent months. He played okay in Australia but once he returned home to South America it's been terrible result after terrible result. It comes due to his struggle with a shoulder injury that simply won't go away. Garin was very frustrated after another loss admitting that won't continue like this:
“Right now it's horrible for me to play tennis. I've tried so hard
and it doesn't work. This Friday, I will make a decision about my
future. I'll see what I'm going to do because it's not worth continuing
to play like this. I give 100% and try hard."
He further said:
"Even though people
think I don't, I love tennis and I love it. Sometimes there are bad
times and you have to keep going. The only thing I want is to play
without worrying about the shoulder, I go through a lot of ups and
downs. I still feel a little pain."
