Dayana Yastremska was spending time home when the Russian invasion of Ukraine started forcing her to hide with the rest of the civilians in underground parking.
Yastremska revealed she spent two days in the underground parking before her parents sent her and her little sister out of Ukraine. The tennis player was spending time at her family's home in Odessa when the invasion started with the coastal city being of the major cities that endured shelling.
Fortunately, the latest reports suggested that Yastremska and her sister have reached Romania and are safe now. On the experience Yastremska said:
"After spending two nights in the underground parking, my parents
made a decision at any cost to send me and my little sister out of
Ukraine! Mom, Dad, we love you very much, take care."
