"Darkest and toughest moment of Novak Djokovic's career" - former coach Becker on US Open incident

Novak Djokovic got kicked out of the US Open after unintentionally hitting a lineswoman in the neck with a ball and his former coach commented on it.

Novak Djokovic got disqualified from the US Open last night following an incident where he unintentionally hit a lineswoman in the neck with a ball. She required medical assistance and Djokovic issued numerous apologies for it. His former coach Boris Becker was asked about it and he said:

"I’m as shocked as anybody. Novak and me go way back. We call each other family." Explaining further Becker said:

"This is probably the most difficult moment in his entire professional life. He did break the rule, the decision is correct. The biggest star of the US Open has left the tournament, tough decision, but they made the right call."

The reasoning behind Becker's comments was as he put it a clean lane towards his 18th Grand Slam title. According to Becker, he was playing the best tennis of his career, undefeated this year with a clear path to grand slam 18. He said:

He was in the form of life, undefeated this year, on his way to collecting Grand Slam number 18. None of that, now he going to go home."
