Denis Shapovalov continued his US Open march with a win against Goffin to reach the quarterfinal for the 1st time in his career.

Denis Shapovalov reached the quarterfinals of the US Open lat night with a victory against David Goffin. It was a very good display from the Canadian who lost the first set but fought back bravely to win 6-7(0) 6-3 6-4 6-3. With this victory, he became the 1st Canadian to reach the quarterfinal of the US Open in the Open era.
After the match he said:
"It's a really proud moment. It's crazy how far I've come," Shapovalov said on court after the match. "I knew it was going be tough against David and I'd have to play every single point against him... I'm definitely tired, but super happy."
The next opponent for the young Canadian will be Pablo Carreno-Busta who reached the quarterfinal after Novak Djokovic got defaulted from their match. On that match Denis said:
"He's a super tough player, similar to David. It's going to be a very tough match. "I have doubles tomorrow [and] I'll try to recover as quickly as possible."
