The Davis Cup Qualifiers have already started today and they will feature some stellar matches so let's see what's in store.
Croatia - India
One of the interesting matchups is between Croatia and India. The Croatian team is lead by Cilic who will play the 2nd match today against Ramanathan. Croatia is the heavy favourite in this one despite being without their 2nd best player Coric. Cilic has been
steadily improving in form and he should be ready to lead his country to victory.
Italy - South Korea
Italy is hosting South Korea in Cagliari away from the mainland due to the virus outbreak.
Fabio Fognini will play today and he will face Lee. Italy is the heavy favourite in this one especially since Fognini committed to playing. He
hasn't been all that great lately but he is by far the best player in this matchup.
Austria - Uruguay
Another interesting matchup is between Austria and Uruguay. Austria is without its star player Thiem but even so, they have some respectable player who should get the job done. The key matchup might doubles where Marach and Melzer will need to pull through to give Austria a chance.
Several matchups have already started. Australia already took a commanding lead against Brazil. Both Millman and Thompson won their matches to give Australia the lead. They are without Kyrgios or De Minaur but playing on hard courts in Adelaide gave them a clear edge.
Ecuador also took a 2-0 lead against Japan. Japan is without Nishikori who hasn't played in a long time and without him, they are simply outmatched against Ecuador. Playing in Japan didn't help them and Ecuador should win this ultimately.
Here is a list of the other matchups:
Sweden vs Chile
Czech Republic - Slovakia
Kazakhstan - Netherlands
USA - Uzbekistan
Argentina - Colombia
Belgium - Hungary
