The Argentine, having won the inaugural edition of the Cordoba Open as a wild card entrant last year, is seeded eighth this year. He defeated countryman Pedro Cachin 6-3 6-3 in an hour and 25 minutes to book his spot in the quarterfinals.
Londero next faces fourth seed Laslo Djere, as the Serbian defeated Spanish qualifier Pedro Martinez 6-3 6-4.
“The next match against Djere will be difficult, but I go game-by-game, point-by-point. I only think about the next one, to prepare well and be recovered,” Londero said after the match.
Spain's Albert Ramos-Vinolas navigated a tough victory against compatriot Pablo Andujar 6-3 6-7(4) 6-4 after three hours and 20 minutes.
With both men tied at 4-4 in the final set, the match was interrupted by a 20-minute rain delay. This seemed to rob Andujar of any momentum he may have had, as he was immediately broken once play resumed. Ramos-Vinolas would then serve out the match.
The fifth seed will face top seed Diego Schwartzman, who dispatched of unseeded Spaniard Jaume Munar 6-1 7-5. Schwartzman leads their head to head series 4-0, so Ramos-Vinolas will need to adopt a different approach if he hopes to overcome the home favorite.
