Dominic Thiem experience a lot of tough moments as he made his way back from injury but he never lost hope that he will return to his best tennis.
The Austrian had times when he thought about whether it was all worth it and whether he should quit tennis but ultimately he decided against it because he always felt a fire burning and a desire to continue competing. Lately, he's been seeing that effort turn into some good performances and decent results.
He still has ways to go before he makes it fully back but at least it's been looking better. Speaking during his Monte-Carlo stay, Thiem admitted:
“Deep inside, there was a feeling I still have something in me, or at least I want to try. If I didn’t have this feeling, probably I would’ve stopped. On the surface it looked like I lost hope.. But deep inside me there was always this small fire, this small light”
