No further tennis will be played outside of the show courts of Philippe Chatrier and Suzanne Lenglen today, it has been confirmed with the rest of the action slated all now cancelled for Saturday 27 July.
The only matches that will now be played are Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal in men's doubles action as well as Angelique Kerber v Naomi Osaka. On Suzanne-Lenglen, it is Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula vs the Aussie pairing of Ellen Perez and Daria Saville.
The latter was moved onto Lenglen likely in a bid to stop a stacked Sunday scenario further and also with Gauff and Pegula both slated to start singles campaigns also on Sunday. The writing was on the wall early on Saturday afternoon with Bianca Andreescu, Christopher Eubanks and Stan Wawrinka among those with matches culled from the schedule.
But the decision was made as such when they decided not to add further matches onto the Chatrier/Lenglen slate. Among those cancelled included Jelena Ostapenko v Camila Osorio and Beatriz Haddad Maia v Varvara Gracheva on Court Simonne-Mathieu.
Kei Nishikori v Jack Draper, Luciano Darderi v Tommy Paul, Karoline Muchova v Leylah Fernandez were also leading ties that were hangers on until they decided to call it off for the day. The schedule will be confirmed in short order for Sunday and for certain players it will be quick matches one after another for the rest of their time in Paris if they progress.
Thankfully though unlike Roland Garros, the rest of the weather forecast seems to not be as bad so they will not be as behind as the French Open.

An outer court washout. It's like Roland Garros all over again (thankfully the forecast is good the rest of the week)
