Djokovic stuck around to take photos with fans after the match, amid “Nole, Nole” chants. “I couldn’t ask for a better reception,” he said on court, following his 6-3, 6-3 win over Musetti. Gets Khachanov/De Minaur next! #DDFTennis
Novak Djokovic is playing this week at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and saw off Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 6-3 to open his campaign.
But it might be his last competitive tennis for a long time with Djokovic sticking to his stance on vaccination and with rules changing in the US, he is unlikely to be given permission to play which he referenced post match.
"I can't enter United States. As of today I'm not able to play. But let's see what happens. Maybe things change in the next few weeks," he said after his opening win over Musetti.
This will likely affect his ability to play in the US Open later in the year also if the rules aren't relaxed.
