Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is enjoying a stellar run at the Olympic Games in Tokyo but he will face Novak Djokovic for a place in the quarterfinal.
Both Davidovich Fokina and Novak Djokovic won their two matches at the Olympics in great fashion and that gives the Spaniard confidence heading into it. Speaking about the match against Djokovic the Spaniard underlined the importance of understanding that Djokovic can be beaten.
He said:
“He (Novak Djokovic) can be beaten too. It is clear that he is chasing the gold medal and the US Open, after the three Grand Slams he has been in, and it will not be easy to handle that pressure.”
Asked about his relationship with Djokovic, Fokina spoke about how they trained a few times together:
“Djokovic? Well, I like him. We like each other. We had seen each other on the circuit, but in his quarantine, he came to his brother’s house in Marbella and we have trained together a couple of times.”
