Novak Djokovic is through to the
Belgrade Open final after defeating Andrej Martin 6-1 4-6 6-0.
It was a great match by Novak Djokovic who once again gifted his opponent a bagel en route to the 6-1 4-6 6-0 win. Andrej Martin played a decent match and even took Djokovic the distance but the Serbian played two sets of sensational tennis to win the match. The opening set featured a determined Djokovic who was just locked in from the start.
It's a trend that has followed him throughout the week in Belgrade which is a welcome sign for a player who tends to enter matches slowly. He won the opening set 6-1 but the 2nd set featured an uncharacteristic drop off in focus from Djokovic. He found himself down 0-2 early but he was able to pull it back.
A couple of games later he would take the 4-3 lead with a break but Martin would go on a three-game run to close out the set 6-4. Djokovic was visibly annoyed by that so he came out angry and determined in the 3rd set. Going on a rampage, Djokovic would not surrender any rally or point and he demolished Martin 6-0 in just 27 minutes.
Martin only won 5 of 18 points on his serve and just 3 of 15 on Djokovic's en route to the defeat. A valiant effort but Djokovic moves to the final where he will face either Delbonis or Molcan.
