Write off Novak Djokovic at your peril as the defending champion at Wimbledon has reached the semi-finals of this year's tournament producing a remarkable comeback to deny Jannik Sinner in the process.
Djokovic came from two sets down to win 5-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 to see off the Italian who looked likely to seal the greatest win of his career at some point but the level of the Serbian just got better and better as the match went on.
After going 5-4 up in the opening set, Djokovic succumbed to a dominant break of serve to go 6-5 up before sealing set point at the second opportunity at 7-5 up.
In the second set, it was a dominant break from Sinner which saw him go 2-1 up but Djokovic was really in trouble after having to survive two break points before losing out on the third which allowed the Italian to go 5-2 up and move one set away.
But it was a superb comeback from there from Djokovic who set up three set points at 5-3 up with a drop shot and lob combo and after having the first saved, he banged down a huge serve and wrapped it up.
It was even more dominance from there as he wrapped it up 6-2 with real concern for Sinner as his left ankle seemed to have some trouble but after carrying on, he wasted a break point chance and Djokovic turned it into a set point opportunity which he converted with a perfect serve.
The comeback was then complete with back-to-back service winners followed by an ace to bring up three match points with Sinner returning into the net and the match was over.
