Serbia’s legendary tennis player Novak Djokovic has reportedly
parted ways with longtime agent and manager Eduardo Artaldi.
The two have been working together since 2008, right after
the 36-year-old went on to win his maiden Grand Slam title in Melbourne.
Serbian journalist Sasa Ozmo, in a post on his official
account on social media platform X — previously known as Twitter — confirmed
the development.
The development will be a surprising one for many tennis fans,
especially as Djokovic has recently registered his 24th Grand Slam
triumph in New York.
The 36-year-old defeated the current world number three
Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 to lift
his fourth US Open title.
Coming into the year, there were concerns about whether Djokovic
would be able to keep his winning run going against some young and exciting
talent around.
However, the Belgrade-born was exceptional throughout the
year where he ended up winning three out of the four Grand Slams.
His only defeat in a
major tournament in 2023 came in Wimbledon where he lost a five-set thrilling
final to Spain’s young tennis star Carlos Alcaraz with a score of 1–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4.
