Serbia’s
Novak Djokovic has been seen giving advice to kids
on the street during his vacations on Korcula Island.
The 36-year-old spent some time away from his tennis after
his heartbreaking defeat to Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in the final of Wimbledon in
a five-set thriller with a score of 1–6,
7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4.
Now, new pictures emerged on social media where the Serb
was giving advice to kids on the street in Korcula island.
Djokovic is currently taking part in the Cincinnati Open (Western
& Southern Open) where he has already booked his place in the last-four
after defeating America’s Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinal with a score of 6-0,
6-4.
The current world number two is set to face Germany’s Alexander
Zverev in the semifinal of the competition on Saturday.
Djokovic will be hoping to win the next two matches and go
to US Open in high spirits, especially after missing out on the event for two
consecutive years because of his anti-Covid-19 vaccination stance.
The fourth and the last Grand Slam of the year is set to begin
in New York in less than 10 days’ time where players from all over the world
will fight for the ultimate glory.
Djokovic has an impressive record while playing at the
Flashing Medows where he has lifted the title three times. However, the last of
those victories came five years back in 2018 when he defeated Argentina’s Juan
Martín del Potro in the final in straight sets with a score of 6–3, 7–6(7–4),
6–3.
