Dominic Thiem back on the court

Dominic Thiem injured his right wrist a month ago and the Austrian player is back to training albeit with his left hand.

Dominic Thiem has had an up and down 2021 with the Austrian player struggling with form and motivation following his unexpected triumph at the US Open. Last month he finally was starting to pick up some form but then injury struck. He hurt his right wrist which rendered him unable to play any tennis for a while.

He missed Wimbledon, the Olympics and several other events due to the injury nad he hopes to be ready for the North American hard-court swing. Now he is finally back on the court albeit he is using his left hand for tennis-related drills. In a video posted on his, Instagram Thiem is shown doing some tennis drills with his left arm.

It's hard to judge how useful that will be in the future but Thiem is keen on keeping his fitness level high for once his wrist does recover. Then he will hope to improve on a lacklustre 9-9 record on the season which is far from his usual level.
