Dominic Thiem is in contention for the Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year Award following his first Major crown lifted at the last year's US Open.
Dominic kicked off the previous season with the Australian Open runner-up prize, opening two sets to one lead against Novak Djokovic before falling in five sets. The Austrian fixed that at the US Open, using Djokovic's early exit and beating Alexander Zverev from two sets to love down in the final for his first Major trophy at 27.
"Thank you, @laureussport, for the nomination! It was a dream come true to win my first Grand Slam title last year! Now seeing my name on the nominee's list together with so many great athletes is a true honor," said Dominic Thiem.
