2021 Doha Qatar Open Entry List with Federer, Thiem, Rublev

The 29th edition of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open takes place at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha between March 8-13, shifting to the new calendar position.

Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg, Jim Courier, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Nikolay Davydenko, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer and Novak Djokovic had all won the title here in the past. Andrey Rublev joined the list of champions in 2020, toppling Corentin Moutet for the best start of the season that propelled him into the top-10. The Russian will have to dig deep to defend the trophy, facing Dominic Thiem and Roger Federer as his main rivals.

Roger Federer returns to action for the first time since the last year's Australian Open, seeking his fourth Doha crown and the first in ten years. After two knee surgeries in 2020, Federer is ready for a fresh start at one of his favorite events, skipping the attention from some bigger tournament and hoping for a deep run. Gael Monfils, Denis Shapovalov, Roberto Bautista Agut, Kevin Anderson, David Goffin, Pablo Carreno Busta and Stan Wawrinka are also in contention, with exciting matches coming right from the opening round.
