It doesn't seem likely that
Novak Djokovic will be appointing a new coach anytime soon in a bombshell confession that he may not have a new coach at all heading into the clay court season as he continues his clay court preparation in Belgrade.
Djokovic split with
Goran Ivanisevic after a six year association with the current World No.1 lauding his former coach while refusing to be drawn on reasoning and also new appointments when approached by journalists back home. But he said that he is trying to figure out next steps after disposing of the former Wimbledon champion and that he currently doesn't have any sort of plans a foot.
Some have floated the idea of a Boris Becker return, while Andy Roddick as well said it was likely that it would be a return for Marian Vajda who has long returned after coaches like Becker and Agassi haven't worked.
“I still don’t have a clear idea who a new coach would be, or whether there will be one at all. I’ve had coaches since I was a kid, now I am trying to feel by myself what I need, what I feel most comfortable with. You will be informed in case someone joins the team," said Djokovic as per Tennis Majors.
“Together, we’ve written history of our sport, we have won Slams, ended seasons as number one in the world, but we went through trials and tribulations as well – disqualification at the US Open, deportation from Australia… I will always remember that he was there for me as a person, as a human being, first and foremost, and that he brought the right set of values into our relationship. That kind of chemistry was followed by great results. I wish Goran all the best.”
