The draw for the ATP 500 Rio Open has been revealed. The tournament will take place from February 17 to March 22 at the Jockey Club Brasileiro, featuring top players Alexander Zverev and Lorenzo Musetti, along with local star Joao Fonseca.

A major last-minute withdrawal is Holger Rune, who pulled out due to a shoulder injury, marking a significant absence. However, the South American contingent, led by Francisco Cerúndolo, Alejandro Tabilo, Nicolás Jarry, and defending champion Sebastián Báez, will aim to keep the trophy in the region for a second consecutive year.

World No. 2 Alexander Zverev is the tournament’s top seed, followed by Italian No. 17 Lorenzo Musetti. Both are among the main contenders and are among the few European players in the draw. The German will face Bu Yunchaokete in his opening match, while the 23-year-old Italian awaits a qualifier.

Argentina’s Francisco Cerúndolo will take on France’s Hugo Gaston, with a potential quarterfinal clash against his compatriot, eighth-seeded Tomás Martín Etcheverry. Meanwhile, Brazilian sensation Joao Fonseca finds himself in the same section and will look to make another surprise run, following his breakthrough at the Argentina Open, where he reached the final against Cerúndolo.

Chilean seeds Alejandro Tabilo (No. 3) and Nicolás Jarry (No. 6) will face qualifiers yet to be determined. Another key first-round clash will see seventh-seeded Pedro Martínez take on fellow Spaniard and former top-20 player Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
