From 7-18 May, 2025, the ATP stars head to the Foro Italico for the second part of the ATP 1000 double prior to Roland Garros in the Rome Open. The draw has been completed with Jannik Sinner set to return for the first time since his doping ban has concluded.
Sinner took a retrospective ban after the Australian Open instead of going to CAS to potentially serve a longer ban. His ban expired fully yesterday so he is free to return. He faces Mariano Navone or Federico Cina who was present at the Trevi Fountain for the draw.
Also in his section is Casper Ruud fresh off winning Madrid. he faces Roman Safiullin or Alexander Bublik in the second round. The second Quarter sees Taylor Fritz also present for the draw face either Gabriel Diallo a star in Madrid or Marcos Giron. Alex de Minaur takes on either Flavio Cobolli or Luca Nardi.
While Andrey Rublev who has massively dropped this week in terms of his ranking faces either Joao Fonseca or Fabian Marozsan. The third Quarter is headed up by two players in particular in Jack Draper who faces Yunchaokete Bu or Luciano Darderi.
Carlos Alcaraz is seemingly ready to play and faces Jan-Lennard Struff or Yoshihito Nishioka. The big news too is that Sinner and Alcaraz are drawn in opposing halfs so they can't meet until the final.
The fourth Quarter sees new top 10 star Lorenzo Musetti face either Hamad Medjedovic or a qualifier in his opening round while Alexander Zverev who is defending champion aces Camilo Ugo Carabelli or a qualifier.
Novak Djokovic will not play in Rome this year deciding against a return to Italy after his early loss in Madrid. Seemingly he won't be back until the French Open now with no signs he will play Geneva or Hamburg at the end of Rome.
