The
draw has been confirmed ahead of the 2024
Chengdu Open which takes place between 18-24 September. In a Chinese triple header including Hangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai, it is on the ATP 250 circuit.
Lorenzo Musetti leads the way. He faces off against either Pavel Kotov or Christopher O'Connell in the second round. The latter has recently had success on the Challenger Tour.
Alexander Bublik is second seed. He faces off against either Alexandre Muller or a qualifier. While completing the leading trio is Nicolas Jarry, he faces Adam Walton or Lukas Klein.
But perhaps the intrigue comes from Kei Nishikori who has recently been playing Challenger Tour. He takes on Juncheng Shang in one of the standout first round ties.
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Adrian Mannarino, Lorenzo Sonego and Pedro Martinez also lead a line-up that is perhaps the best of all when it comes to this week apart from the Laver Cup.
With the Laver Cup taking place and post US Open fever being at a fever pitch in terms of players not wanting to risk themselves, some line-ups have suffered.
But Chengdu perhaps offers the best hope when it comes to the next week or so.
